Bio
I have been practicing acupuncture in Encinitas since March 2009. My specialty is Japanese Acupuncture, a gentle but powerful needling technique. It is gentle enough for the needlephobe but powerful enough to treat deep pain and longterm problems. I am a firm believer that regular acupuncture will help prevent and reduce incidence of health issues. I treat a wide range of health concerns with a special passion for helping with headaches, pain, women's health, digestion, insomnia and stress management. My studies include a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. In my early youth, I earned a M.S. in Environmental Health Science, studied French in southern France, Horticulture in southern California, and Biology in Colorado.
My interest in acupuncture dates back to high school, where i wrote a research paper on acupuncture. Many years later a veterinary acupuncturist was at my home treating my cat and she mentioned a local school of Chinese Medicine. That planted the seed for what become a life-changing journey that has given me the rewarding opportunity to improve the lives of others.
I have a daily yoga practice in Encinitas that helps keep me balanced mentally and physically. I started practicing yoga in august 2004 and was immediately hooked. I use many aspects of yoga in my acupuncture practice, including breath, poses, and theory.
When I am not practicing acupuncture or yoga, I am enjoying my home near Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. I love to garden and have a special love of cacti and succulents. My gardening is often supervised by two foster cats who arrived in 2000.
